If you have little or no experience or qualifications in marketing, the CIM Foundation Certificate in Marketing will accelerate your career. It’ll give you the foundation in marketing and digital marketing to perform a professional marketing role within an organisation.

Chartered Institute of Marketing qualifications are developed in consultation with industry to give you with the skills employers are looking for.

This qualification has two modules. Each takes three months to complete and involves approximately 3-4 hours study per week.

  • Marketing Principles
    This module investigates the function of marketing and its role within an organisation. You’ll also learn how to use the marketing mix to satisfy customers’ needs.
  • Digital Essentials
    This module provides a solid foundation in the tools and principles of digital marketing. You’ll investigate the key factors that influence the digital consumer, the importance of developing content aimed at specific market segments, and how campaigns can be measured.

This is an ‘open’ qualification, which means you need no previous qualifications or marketing experience. However, if you are working or have some business experience, this will certainly help you put your learning into context.

If English is not your first language, you will need IELTS 6.5 or Trinity ISE III/IV.

To study this qualification you will need internet access, preferably broadband, in order to log onto our online Study Portal and also to participate in online tutorials during the second module.

Apart from a web browser, the only software requirements are a PDF reader plus standard office automation software.

The total course tuition fees are $3000 ($1500 per module).

You should also allow an additional $700 for the following: textbooks, CIM membership, assessment and exam fees.

All fees are tax deductable and can be spread over the duration of the qualification.

The first module in this qualification is assessed through a multiple-choice exam.

The second module is assessed through a written assignment, which provides the opportunity to apply what you’ve learnt to an organisation of your choice.
